Lidgard Shades prize

Thanks to our proud supporter Lidgard Shades, we have an incredible ‘SPOT PRIZE’ that all schools, kindergartens and early childhood centres that registered and participated in our 2023 Get Spotted campaign were in the running for.

Lidgard Shades is generously donating a 49m2 Shade Sail that includes four steel posts, installation and a range of colours to choose from to the successful school, kindergarten or early childhood centre.

Providing adequate shade within the school environment and over high-use playground areas is an investment in the health and wellbeing of our children, teachers, and all other stakeholders regularly making use of the school grounds and shade sails is one of the solutions for providing protection from the sun’s harmful UV radiation and excessive heat. They also add aesthetic allure and interest to the environment.

    Prize details:

Manufacture and fully Install one (1) 49m2 four-pointed Shade Sail including four round galvanised steel posts set at varying heights, custom installed to suit the space and create effective shade, worth an estimated retail value of NZ$20,000.00 + GST, including travel/installation.

The proprietary shade sail design is second to none when it comes to quality. They use stainless steel wire around the perimeter of the sail, crimped at each corner to ensure the best possible tensioning through the belly of the shade sail. Staggered reinforcing patching at each corner and PTFE thread underpins unrivalled durability.

The Shade Sails are made from quality heavy duty 330GSM or 340GSM shade fabric and are known for being tough, high-quality custom built shades that stand up to New Zealand’s wild weather conditions.

They use only 316-series marine grade stainless steel for our fixtures and fittings, so you don’t end up with unsightly rust stains that you will eventually get from using galvanised steel fittings.

The fabric comes with 10-year UV warranty. All additional works if required come with a 5-year warranty.

    Terms & Conditions.

Group of children in spotty clothes

Dargaville Primary School students turned out in spots for a special mufti day last Friday; all in support of melanoma awareness and to raise money for the cause. They and their educators want to promote a positive message as we come into summer. Slip, slop, slap and wrap to stay sun-safe, and stick to the shade in the hottest part of the day.
