Run for Melanoma!
Are you, your family, friends or colleagues in training for the Auckland or Queenstown Marathons in November – or planning to sign up?
Run (jog or walk) for melanoma yourself – or encourage whānau to step out for a great cause! Sign up for a marathon (or both) and fundraise with Melanoma New Zealand.
- Auckland Marathon – Sunday 2 November
- Queenstown Marathon – Saturday 15 November
Raise funds, raise awareness
Everyone who runs for us help us raise awareness, prevent melanoma and support care and treatment for all people in New Zealand. The funds you raise go towards our vital work, from education and advocacy to research and patient support. Every step taken – 52,400 in a full marathon* – helps create a future where fewer lives are lost.
Melanoma is New Zealand’s most serious skin cancer. Around 300 people in New Zealand die of melanoma each year. The good news: if it’s caught and treated early enough, it’s almost always curable.
Free skin cancer checks and sunscreen
Our team – and, through us, the hundreds of families we support – will be cheering you all to the finish line. Then, once you’ve caught your breath, you can head along to our Melanoma New Zealand van for a free skin cancer spot check and free mini sunscreen from our generous sun safe supporter and key Marathon Event Sponsor, La Roche-Posay.
So, lace up those shoes, choose your distance and sign up to fundraise for us – or encourage others to step up for us. Then spread the word with your generous supporters and get moving for melanoma. Training never felt so good!
And remember: cover up, wear your sunscreen, hat and sunnies on Marathon day and every day you’re out training!
