Support services

Our skilled nurses and counsellor are here to help you. If you live in New Zealand and you or a whānau member are concerned about a possible melanoma or are dealing with a diagnosis of melanoma, please get in touch.

Nurse Support

Although your best source of information about your health will always be your own GP or specialist, our nurses can answer your questions, help to explain terminology or concepts and provide you with support and contacts for other services. The Melanoma New Zealand Nurse Educator Service is free and appointments are by telephone or online platforms.  Details about the nature of this consultation and Melanoma New Zealand’s privacy statement are on the booking form.

Counsellor Support

It’s normal to feel anxious or frightened about what you are experiencing. Counselling offers you an opportunity to safely explore your thoughts and emotions with a professional counsellor, in complete confidence. Our counsellor supports anyone affected by melanoma, including individuals, families, whānau and carers facing the challenges of a new diagnosis, ongoing treatments or post treatment. The Melanoma New Zealand Counselling Service is free and is by telephone or online platforms. Details about the service and Melanoma New Zealand’s privacy statement are on the booking form.
